What is NUAD?
NUAD is an ancient Asian form of bodywork often practised as -THAI YOGA MASSAGE-. The full name 'Nuad Phen Boran' roughly translates as 'healing touch'. Nuad is a combination of energy work, physical exercises, stretching, breathing exercises, acupressure and Ayurvedic elements.
NUAD draws from several sources: ancient knowledge from before the Buddhist influence in Thailand, teachings of traditional Chinese medicine, as well as yoga and Ayurveda from India, which were brought to Thailand by Buddhist monks.

How does NUAD work? ?
NUAD is also known as 'passive yoga'.
The massage takes place on a mat on the floor and is performed on the clothed body, without massage oil. The therapist places the body in different positions (asanas) and the strokes are performed in a slow, meditative sequence along the body's energy lines (sen lines), usually ending with a stretch. Muscles and tendons are relaxed, blockages released and energy channels opened.
On a physical level, the focus is on reducing tension and stiffness, loosening the entire musculoskeletal system and stimulating circulation and metabolism. On a mental and emotional level, Nuad has a harmonising and regulating effect on the nervous system. Overall, Nuad can achieve a state of relaxation that is perceived as extremely pleasant.
